Role Overview

Time Out is looking for a multi-talented, highly visual Videographer and video editor to join our team. This role is responsible for end-to-end video ideation, production and editing across both organic editorial channels and commercial partner campaigns.

You will bridge the gap between fast-paced, social-first content, creating viral, mobile-recorded Reels and TikToks with strong hooks, and sleek, high-production commercial shoots for luxury hotels and major lifestyle clients. You are as comfortable shooting on a mobile phone with quick turnarounds as you are operating a full camera, lighting, and audio rig on a commercial set.

Key Responsibilities

1. Dual-Tier Video Production & Creative Development

● Social-First & Short-Form Content: Conceptualise, shoot, and edit quick-turnaround, organic Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, and long-form videos. Focus on food videography, dynamic dining coverage, strong hooks, trending audio, storytelling, and high viral potential to drive engagement and audience growth.

● High-Production Commercial Content: Lead end-to-end production for branded client briefs—with a strong focus on hospitality, luxury hotels, food and beverage venues, and major lifestyle brands. Handle shoot logistics, location scouting, producing video shot lists, set lighting, professional audio capture, and client direction.

● Post-Production: Execute seamless video edits, colour grading, sound design, and basic motion graphics/animations using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects) and mobile editing apps (eg Edits, CapCut).

● Pre-Production & Logistics: Develop creative treatments, storyboards, and shoot schedules. Obtain necessary model/location releases and source props as required.

2. Cross-Functional & Commercial Collaboration

● Work closely with Editorial, Commercial, and Creative teams to align video output with the content calendar and client deliverables.

● Be available on short notice to shoot breaking lifestyle news, venue openings, or time-sensitive events across Singapore.

● Support integrated commercial campaigns, ensuring branded content maintains Time Out’s authentic voice while meeting client KPIs.

3. Asset & Equipment Management

● Maintain and manage Time Out Singapore’s video production equipment, advising on necessary repairs, upgrades, or replacements within budget.

● Organise and maintain the video asset archive to support content reuse and brand continuity.

● Build and manage a network of reliable freelance talent/assistants/videographers/editors to assist on larger-scale productions when needed.

Skills & Experience

● Experience: 3+ years of end-to-end video production experience in digital media, editorial publishing, or agency environments.

● Versatile Shooting Ability: Proven portfolio demonstrating mastery in both organic phone-recorded social content (DSLR/mobile hybrid) and high-end commercial/cinematic video.

● Technical Editing Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and short-form tools like CapCut. Familiarity with audio editing and motion graphics packages.

● Equipment & Gear Expertise: Hands-on expertise with professional camera operation (Sony Alpha / Canon Cinema / Cinema EOS cameras), gimbals, multi-point lighting setups, and lavalier/shotgun audio rigs.

● Editorial & Commercial Judgment: Strong understanding of storytelling, platform best practices (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), copyright laws, and brand guidelines.

● Efficiency Under Pressure: Ability to work quickly to tight deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and self-supervise effectively.

What Success Looks Like

● Engagement & Performance: Consistently delivering engaging videos that meet or exceed performance metrics (views, shares, watch time, conversions) across digital and social platforms.

● Brand & Visual Integrity: Producing videos that reflect Time Out's distinct voice, visual identity, and editorial integrity while delivering high-value returns for commercial clients.

● Production Agility: Managing production timelines efficiently—delivering both quick-turnaround social clips and polished client deliverables on time and within budget.
